PAQUIÑO ASOREY

Santiago. Private collection

Sepia marble

1922

28x27x17

It represents the first-born one of the artist a few months after being born. Like other works the bottom is crudely worked, remembering impressionist models, in contrast to the head, finely crafted with great fondness. It emanates purity and naivety.

At the base appears the signature and the date.

It's the first of a series of children's heads that does Asorey for auction organized by Father Rubinos for the orphanage of A Coruña. The idea was to sell this type of children's heads to collect funds. Many authors participating in this project carry on with the execution model the proposed by Asorey.
